"Spearheaded by the Maestro Frank A. Camaratta, Jr., an exquisite reproduction of the Circa 1895 Jaques of London Chessmen, a time period that is regarded as one of the most celebrated in the illustrious history of Jaques of London."

The House of Staunton is proud to offer another masterpiece - The Bicentennial Series Chessmen. It is an exact reproduction of the Turn-of-the-Century Jaques of London Chessmen Chessmen. These Chessmen feature a 3.625" King with a 1.5" Diameter base and are very heavily weighted. These Chessmen are an exact match to the original Chessmen, down to the smallest details!

The Chess pieces are hand carved by our master artisans and crafted out of the highest grade woods. The Chess pieces are heavily weighted with luxurious billiard cloth base pads on the other Chess pieces and a beautiful finish. The design of the Bicentennial Series Chess set features the form, board presence and exquisite craftsmanship of the turn-of-the-century Jaques of London Chessmen.

The Chessmen are new and each set consists of 34 Chessmen, including four Queens, a standard that was introduced by The House of Staunton in 1993.

The Chess Set comes with a Individually Numbered Certificate of Authenticity and an original manufacturer's plaque indicating the production number, with an adhesivebacking that would allow it to be affixed to the underside of a Chess box.
