The House of Staunton is proud to offer the Grossmeister Series Chess set. A full club-sized Chess set, it features a 4.4" King with a 1.7" diameter base. The Chess pieces are hand carved by our master artisans and crafted out of the highest grade woods. The Chess pieces are heavily weighted with luxurious billiard cloth base pads and a beautiful finish. The form, board presence and exquisite craftsmanship of these magnificent chessmen have been recaptured and are offered to you.

What is an imperfect item?

Imperfect consists of items that are deemed below the House of Staunton's already high quality standards.  Because these products do not meet or exceed our inspection standards, we are able to pass enormous savings to you!

The inspection report for this set details the following defects:

• The Blood Rosewood Rook has a chip on one of the ramparts (As seen in photographs).
• The Blood Rosewood Knight has a scrape on the base (As seen in photographs).
• The Blood Rosewood Bishop has a crack on the base (As seen in photographs).
• The Natural Boxwood Knight has a chip on the back near the mane (As seen in photographs).
• The Natural Boxwood Pawn has a hairline crack on the base (As seen in photographs).
• There may be other minor imperfections not pictured.
