Blackwood and Olivewood Standard Traditional Chess Board - Gloss Finish

Bought the 2.5". Absolutely massive. Beautiful color combination and excellent gloss finish. The olivewood has a golden hue and is complemented nicely by the blackwood. Some blemishes in the poly finish on the corners and one side but not noticeable enough to warrant a return--I can probably repair with a very small dab of india ink. Paired this board with The Burnt Zagreb '59 Series pieces (boxwood)--perfect complement in terms of both size to square ratio and color palette. Word of caution, the 24 x 24 deluxe carry bag option is a bit too small for this board--it fits, but I fear the zipper will scrape/mar the corners and edges. An extra half-an-inch or quarter-inch would have been more ideal but the next size up may be too large at 26 x 26.

These Rechapados Ferrer glossy boards are works of art and this is now my sixth. I'm finding this Blackwood & Olivewood color scheme really to my liking and am so glad to have chosen it! As with all the R.F. boards, the quality is unquestionable and the House of Staunton has made it available for a remarkably low price. What a bargain! Buy it before they're out of stock as they surely will be soon!
