The House of Staunton is proud to offer the finest set of bone chess pieces that we've ever produced - the Imperial Collector Bone Luxury Chess pieces. It features a 4.0" King with a 1.6" diameter base. The Chess pieces are hand carved by our master artisans and crafted out of the highest camel bone. The Chess pieces are naturally weighted with luxurious leather base pads and a beautiful finish. All of the pieces are crafted out of bone.
The Collector Series Luxury Chess set has been crafted to replicate the design and proportions of the original Staunton pattern Chessmen, registered by Nathaniel Cooke in March of 1849 and first manufactured by Jaques of London in September 1849. The distinctive feature of this set is the open-mitered Bishop and original Knight design, which was originally sculpted by the Maestro, Frank A. Camaratta, Jr. With its downturned head, flowing mane and aggressive facial expression. this is one of the finest Knights ever to grace the 64 square battlefields.
