Lemos Deep Dive - #20 - The Larsen Opening - GM Damian Lemos

1.b3 might just be the most under-rated first move in chess. You already know it’s solid and flexible… but I’m here to tell you that 1.b3 (aka Larsen’s Opening) can also be a stone-cold killer. This quiet little pawn move hides a ton of trickery and dangerous ideas… it allows White to be flexible and sets up some far from obvious opening traps for Black. This is a great 6½ hour Deep Dive that gives you the strategies, move-order tricks, and attacking ideas that have taken down GMs!

Master 1.b3! – GM Damian Lemos

Is this course for me?

GM Lemos first got really interested in 1.b3 after making his Double Fianchetto Domination Deep Dive a few years ago. He went to the source, looking at how Danish legend Bent Larsen played it… the guy scored 35W 6D 6L with his opening – 81%! Plus he studied the modern approach, discovering how Nakamura (74% from 65 games!), Karjakin (76% from 19), and Carlsen (83% from 9) handled business. So, basically, GM Lemos took that knowledge and those insights and built a 1.b3 repertoire from the ground up.

This Deep Dive comes complete with the annotated PGN, PDF of opening-specific puzzles, and PDF course summary! Maybe you want a new main opening or perhaps you need a surprise weapon to baffle your regular opponents with. This is a great 6½ hour Deep Dive that gives you the strategies, move-order tricks, and attacking ideas that have taken down GMs!
