The House of Staunton is proud to offer the Professional Series Chessmen crafted from premium Boxwood with a Black & Natural Lacquer finish. They are adaptations of a classic Jaques of London design from the1890s and were used on all boards at the 2000 US Open Chess Championship in St. Paul, MN. These elegant Chessmen feature broad bases with finely turned detail that is normally only found on the much more expensive Chessmen. This full-tournament sized set features a 3.75" King, weighs an impressive 42 ounces and includes 4 Queens. The design and feel of these Chessmen make them ideal for serious tournament competition. The design, quality and workmanship of each House of Staunton piece is UNMATCHED by any set of Chessmen in its price range. The Chessmen are new and come housed in a House of Staunton Mahogany box which is lined in green billiard cloth, divided and features brass quadrant hinges. Each set consists of 34 Chessmen. The board is a House of Staunton Standard Traditional Teak / Bird's Eye Maple wooden Chessboard with 2.25" squares. This veneered Chessboard is 0.5" Thick and features a matte finish. Act Fast! There are a limited number of the Professional Chessmen & Board combinations available.
