Series Chessmen
rafted from premium Boxwood with a Black
& Natural Lacquer finish.
One of the heaviest sets of its size on the market, it is designed to
withstand the rigors of practical play while maintaining the elegance that
has become the hallmark of all House of Staunton Chessmen.
The design, quality and workmanship of each House of Staunton
piece is superb and the detail of the Knights is amazing for a set in this
price range. These fine Chessmen were featured in the Sony Pictures movie
"The Luzhin Defense." This full-tournament sized set
features a 3.75" King, weighs an impressive 40 ounces and includes 4
Queens. The design and feel of these Chessmen make them ideal for serious
tournament competition.
The board is a House of Staunton Standard
Traditional Black Gloss wooden Chessboard with 2.25" squares. This veneered Chessboard is 0.5" Thick and
features a high gloss finish.
The Chessmen are housed in a
premium House of Staunton Red Burl box which is lined in green billiard cloth, divided and features brass quadrant hinges
and a lock & key. The House of Staunton logo is laser etched on the lid of the box.
Each set consists of 34 Chessmen (including the 2
additional Queens). .
