Sutton-Coldfield is a town in Birmingham, UK. From the 1920s to around WW II, Sutton Coldfield manufactured chessmen and chess timers which were widely used through the UK for numerous local and regional chess tournaments. They also published Baruch H. Wood's magazine, Chess, which was founded in 1935 and later taken over by Pergammon Press, I think. B.H. Wood's famous Stanton chessmen were also manufactured by Sutton-Coldfield. A picture of those chessmen are on the cover of Leonard Barden's Endgame book.
