About the Author(s)

Grandmaster Jacob Aagaard won the British Championship at his first and only attempt. He has received the Guardian, ECF and ChessCafe Book of the Year awards and the FIDE Senior Trainer title. His training material is used by amateurs and grandmasters alike.

He is an author who has won several awards on both sides of the Atlantic. Most recently, his two Attacking Manual volumes were chosen as Book of the Year by both the English Chess Federation and the Guardian newspaper.

Nikolaos Ntirlis is a chess coach and computer engineer. He is known as a strong analyst who has seconded many grandmasters. Ntirlis is a PhD student in bio-informatics. He has black belts in Okinawa Karate and Ju-Jitsu and won a bronze medal at the European Championship in semi-contact kickboxing.
