"An exact reproduction of the most popular Chessmen used at tournament and Chess Clubs in the United States."

The House of Staunton is proud to offer the Club Series Chess set. A full tournament-sized Chess set, it features a 3.75" King with a 1.5"diameter base. The Chess pieces are hand carved by our master artisans and crafted out of the highest grade woods. The Chess pieces are heavily weighted with luxurious billiard cloth base pads and a beautiful finish.

As with all of our Chess sets, the Club Series Chessmen exemplifies a perfect combination of distinct beauty and functionality. It has been designed to withstand the rigors of practical play while maintaining an elegance which has become the hallmark of a House of Staunton chess set. The design, quality and craftsmanship of this set is UNMATCHED by any set of Chessmen in its price range. Nothing even comes close!

The Chessmen are new and each set consists of 34 Chessmen, including four Queens, a standard that was introduced by The House of Staunton over 10 years ago.

  • Improve Your Chess At Any Age
In August 2008 Andres D. Hortillosa entered the New England Masters. It was a brave choice for an unrated player to compete in such a tough event, but it proved to be an inspired decision; he exceeded all expectations and was rewarded with a FIDE international rating of 2199. This, however, was no overnight success; it was the result of systematic work. How did he achieve such outstanding improvement? The answer lies in this book.

  • EBOOK - Who Dares Win?
Attacking the Kings on Opposite Sides
Both players are gunning for each other's kings. Whose attack will break through first? This is a typical scenario in chess games. In such tense battles where one slip can be fatal, often it's a case of 'who dares wins'. But it's not enough to throw your pieces up the board and hope for the best. To succeed you need to acquire sophisticated attacking and defensive skills. The good news is that they can easily be learned, remembered and put into practice.
